This is Tracy's specialty and main focus. Unwinding tension patterns in the body's connective tissue unequivocally hails as the key to feeling lighter, more free and alive in the body.
What is Myofascial Release?
The basics…
- n. pl. fas·ci·ae (fsh-, fsh-) 1. Anatomy A sheet or band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs, and other soft tissue structures of the body.
- Myofascial Release (Myo means muscle) is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle to firm sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions. Think of your fascia as clay. This type of therapy is designed to ‘re-sculpt’ your body into better alignment, eliminating pain and muscle tension as well as restore motion and overall optimal function in the whole body.
- Trigger Points (also known as muscle knots) are points on the body that have either local or referred pain. They are often felt as “lumps” and can often be quite sensitive to the touch. The trigger point model states that unexplained pain frequently radiates from these points of local tenderness to broader areas, sometimes distant from the trigger point itself. These broader areas would be areas within the fascia, which is why trigger points can easily and effectively be addressed and resolved alongside Myofascial Release. Both forms of healing require a slower and more in depth pace and approach and use little to no oil.
